Description
Built in 1952 for fishing, the 23-acre Spruce Knob Lake is regularly stocked with trout by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources. Electric trolling motors are permitted on the lake. There is a small boat launch, parking lot, and vault toilets. A wooden pier along the shoreline provides barrier free access. Numerous small but hungry bluegills along the shoreline make fishing fun for beginning anglers. Swimming is not permitted in the lake. When you have finished fishing at the lake, visit the highest point in WV, Spruce Knob, and stay at Spruce Knob Lake Campground or Gatewood Campground.
